Leah Cathleen Donald is a Canadian fibre artist specializing in felting – transforming wool into art.
In 2010 Leah took the leap from art instructor at Leighton Art Centre to sole-preneur when she created ArtFelt Studio to teach felting to children and adults. In over 20 years teaching felting, Leah has taught well over 20,000 students the joy of creating art with wool. Today, ArtFelt Studio has several instructors who visit local schools and share their love of felting.
Leah recently focused on pivoting ArtFelt Studio to meet the challenges presented by COVID-19 by developing classroom kits for teachers, creating step-by-step videos to support the classroom kits and perfecting her online zoom lessons. These kits are now available locally and for shipping across Canada!
Leah Cathleen is an artist member at Leighton Art Centre and she regularly exhibits her fibre art pieces in both their open and juried shows. She is a member of Felt::Feutre Canada and Sheep Creek Weavers. In 2021, Leah received the US Fiber Art Now Teacher Excellence Grant.
